Chris Lau serves as our Chief Financial Officer and Senior Executive Vice President. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial functions, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax, investor relations, and capital markets. In his role, Lau has been instrumental in shaping the company’s strategic direction and driving its growth initiatives, including optimizing capital allocation and advancing financial strategies to support AMH’s long-term objectives. Previously, he served as Vice President, Senior Vice President, and then Executive Vice President of Finance from 2013 to 2018. Prior to AMH, Lau was a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s New York Real Estate M&A Advisory practice, and a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Real Estate Audit Practice, primarily serving equity REIT clients. Lau earned a B.S. in Accounting from San Diego State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in California.
