Bryan Smith was appointed Chief Executive Officer of AMH and named a member of the company's Board of Trustees in January of 2025. Prior to his current appointment, Smith served as Chief Operating Officer since 2019, helping drive the company's growth to become a leading owner, operator, and developer of single-family rental homes in the U.S. Smith has held several leadership positions at AMH since the founding of the company, including Senior Vice President of Acquisitions before its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in 2013 and Executive Vice President and President of Property Management. As of 3Q24, AMH owns a geographically diversified portfolio of approximately 60,000 rental homes, and has built more than 180 communities and over 11,000 properties through its in-house development program. Smith earned a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in California.
